Technical details

This controller is a self-contained console with a modified version of Densha de GO! Final. Externally, it looks similar to a TCPP-20009, except it does not include a pedal connection. It requires a micro USB cable for power and a HDMI cable for video output.

Internally, it contains an Allwinner R16-based board running a Linux distro. The micro USB port supports USB OTG with a powered adapter and is used by Taito to install software updates. Full details are available on Linux Sunxi Wiki.

Data management

Save data

The save data can be backed up and restored by powering on the device with a FAT32-formatted USB drive and a USB OTG adapter:

  • Backup: create a file named backup_magic_36558b710a on the root of the USB drive. A copy of the save data named SaveReg.xml.backup.{CHECKSUM} is created on the USB drive.
  • Restore: create a file named restore_magic_36558b710a on the root of the USB drive and place a backup of the save data named SaveReg.xml.backup on the root of the USB drive.

Game data

The internal game files can be backed up, restored or upgraded using the Densha de GO! Plug & Play Game Manager.
